Make-it-Take-it Sessions are sessions where participants create low-tech, activities, which they can take with them to use in the classroom. Each Make-it-Take-it session is extremely limited in seating so be sure to pre-register for the one you want to attend today!

Thursday, December 1st, 2022 - Session 1 (10:30-11:15) - Let's Get Adaptive - Elementary
Create a thematic, interactive, adapted book to use with your low incidence students over the winter months. This session is geared towards elementary aged students using the book "The Mitten".
Thursday, December 1st, 2022 - Session 2 (1:15- 2:00) - Let's Get Adaptive! - Middle/High School
Create a thematic, interactive, adapted book to use with your low incidence students over the winter months. This session is geared towards middle/high school-aged students using the book "A Christmas Carol."
Friday, December 2nd, 2022 - Session 7 (10:00AM-10:45AM) - Making Beowulf Accessible for High School Self-contained classrooms
This activity is geared toward teachers and therapists working with students who have significant cognitive impairments (MOID/SID/PID). Participants will get a brief demonstration of materials to support student engagement and differentiation in a grade appropriate piece of high school literature - Beowulf. Participants will receive an electronic version of the adapted summary for this epic poem. They will create 3 activities for use in an alternate assessment classroom. They will also receive electronic files for additional templates and activities related to Beowulf. There will be time for participants to take photos of completed tasks for later reference.
Friday, December 2nd, 2022 - Session 8 (1:15PM-2:00PM) - Materials That Engage
Participants will have a demonstration of materials that can be used in a variety of instructional settings to support students on alternate assessment in the instructional process. Participants will then make these presentation materials and be able to take them from that session and put them into immediate use in their classroom. Activities are geared for students who are generally functioning in the moderate to severe cognitive range and are participating in the alternate assessment.
